Clinical Care Lead (RN/LPN)

We work closely with governmental agencies, organizations who assist veterans, military personnel, first responders and many other referral sources. However, our referrals are not limited to trauma-related challenges as we also work with adults, couples, families, and children facing a wide range of mental health and personal challenges. We regularly have a surplus of referrals and are eager to provide services to all in a timely fashion.

Our clinicians are employed as independent contractors and have access to both a comprehensive benefits package and educational allowance. NuVista Mental Health, in partnership with True North Psychological Services, is expanding mental health treatment options in the Oromocto region with the launch of our new TMS program, and we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to serve as our Clinical Lead.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse specializing in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), you will play a pivotal role in the assessment, treatment, and care of patients seeking TMS therapy. TMS is a non-invasive, FDA and Health Canada-approved procedure used to treat various neurological and mood disorders. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the safe and effective administration of TMS treatments to our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient initial intake assessments, including medical history, medication history, current symptoms and safety screening to determine eligibility and suitability for TMS therapy
  • Educate patients and their families about the TMS procedure, potential benefits, and any potential side effects or risks involved. Ensure informed consent is obtained
  • Assess and identify patient needs and respond to them appropriately and promptly. Monitor patient comfort and safety during treatment
  • Document treatment encounters on an electronic medical record and report unexpected outcomes to the clinical team. Seek out support when needed
  • Stay current with the latest developments in TMS technology and treatment protocols by attending relevant conferences and training programs. as offered by the clinic

Qualifications

  • Current registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick or the Association of New Brunswick Licensed Practical Nurses
  • Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing is an asset
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a preference for experience in mental health is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
