Ben is an Abegweit First Nation Mi’kmaq person and Clinical Psychology PhD Candidate from the University of Saskatchewan. He is an integrative therapist whose foundational work is from a Narrative Therapy framework. Other utilized therapeutic strategies include Interpersonal Therapy; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Ben’s generalist training has primarily been completed with teens, adults, and older adults in individual and group settings, and within multiple areas of concern (e.g., anxiety, depression, eating disorders, PTSD, self-esteem, personality-related challenges). His interests include culture and diversity, intergenerational trauma, trauma-informed care, community wellness, and ‘two-eyed’ seeing practices.
