Corinne has been a registered Social Worker within the province of Nova Scotia since 1998 and been involved in private practice since 2006. She has worked primarily within the Emergency Room/Crisis service, community-based agencies, clinics, programs, and institutions in a variety of counseling roles. She has comprehensive experience in assessment/evaluation. Corinne has worked at the provincial level as a Hyde Trainer, SRAI Trainer, and in the education of physicians.
I have proficiency in working with clients conducting mental health assessments using DSM classifications, case formulations, provisional diagnosis, care/treatment planning, crisis intervention and stabilization and therapy. I am well versed in various treatment modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness based cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma focused, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution focused brief therapy, emotionally focused therapy, narrative therapy. I have worked with a diverse clientele across the life span providing individual, couple, group therapy and family therapy. I am interested in working with youth (1o years and older), adults and couples. I have experience working with clients providing telephone based, and tele health counseling on various internet secure platforms. Prior to Coronavirus I was conducting assessments and therapy primarily in person but also commonly through telephonic and internet.
