Jelena is a Registered Social Worker. She started her counselling practice as a generalist, working with a range of populations and concerns including mood disorders, rehabilitation post motor vehicle accidents, end of life, eventually specializing in trauma and post traumatic stress responses.
Jelena’s work with a range of concerns, including mood disorders, rehabilitation post motor vehicle accidents, life transitions and end of life, led her to eventually specialize in trauma. With trauma, she uses safety/stabilization, processing and reintegration treatment model. She strives to be creative when guiding her clients towards self-efficacy, so that they can work through challenges, integrate acquired adaptive systems and apply them moving forward. Depending on the needs, Jelena uses Adaptive Information Processing (EMDR) and Cognitive (CBT) frameworks.
When assisting clients, Jelena utilises a variety of therapeutic interventions. She draws them from Mindful Self Compassion, somatic work, attachment, and Ego States, so that her clients can steadily transform their painful inner experiences, using adaptive capacities to regulate, organize, nurture and support themselves moving forward.
If you’re stuck in the past, uncertain of the future, or struggle with negative sense of self related to survival, responsibility, vulnerability or judgement, ask yourself: Am I ready to make the call?
