Terrie McKinley

Registered Psychologist

Terrie is a Registered Psychologist with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology degree from Yorkville University and holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Victoria and a Conflict Resolution certificate from Mount Royal University.

Terrie is driven to help clients develop awareness for how their historical life experiences shaped who they are, why this was necessary, and together find ways to change these adopted ways of being. She believes that within every person is their ideal self, waiting to be discovered.

Terrie utilizes a client-centred approach and uses principles from dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), and poly-vagal and somatic theories and is trained in eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR), and internal family systems (IFS).

These modalities create a foundation for the processing of deep wounds using the Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM). Terrie is also trained in breathwork and psychedelic-assisted therapy in anticipation of the legalization of psilocybin.

Her diverse life experiences have made her a compassionate listener and instilled a universal optimism for the possibility of change.
She has a special interest in working with adult survivors of trauma and/or childhood abuse or neglect. She is LGBTQ+ friendly.
