Sleep Recovery Built for Veterans
Sleep difficulties are common among Veterans due to stress, trauma, and service-related lifestyle changes. At Nuvista Mental Health, our CBT-I for Veterans program is designed to help you restore natural, restful sleep without relying on sleep medications.
CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia) is the gold standard for treating chronic insomnia – and it’s even more effective when personalized for Veterans’ unique experiences.

What Is CBT-I?
CBT-I is a structured, clinically proven therapy that targets the root causes of insomnia by addressing the thoughts, habits, and behaviours that disrupt sleep.
Rather than masking symptoms with medications, CBT-I helps Veterans:
- Understand the science of sleep
- Replace negative sleep thoughts
- Build better bedtime routines
- Reconnect the mind and body with rest

Key Program Components
Our CBT-I program is tailored to the veteran’s individual needs, but may include:
Sleep Education & Awareness
Learn how stress, trauma, and routine affect your sleep—and how to take back control.
Sleep Restriction Therapy
Limit time awake in bed to strengthen natural sleep patterns.
Stimulus Control
Break the association between the bed and wakefulness or anxiety.
Cognitive Restructuring
Challenge and change negative sleep thoughts.
Sleep Hygiene Coaching
Improve your sleep environment and daily habits.
