Therapeutic Approach & Specialties

Lydia utilizes a client-centred and compassionate approach to counselling. She works with clients of all ages but often focuses on working with children and teens. Lydia uses an eclectic approach to therapy, incorporating elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Somatic Therapy into their work. Lydia works with clients to address challenges relating to anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, school, chronic stress and family conflict. They also specialize in supporting those in LGBTQIA+ community. Lydia also specializes in biofeedback and equine-assisted psychotherapy.

Professional & Academic Background

Lydia earned her Masters in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University in 2023, and has been registered with the College of Counselling Therapists of Prince Edward Island since then. They hold an undergraduate degree in Social Work from Dalhousie University. Prior to work with Serene View Ranch/ Nuvista Mental Health, Lydia has experience working in the school system, youth community programming, and supportive housing.

Outside the Office

Outside of work, Lydia loves spending time with her animals and building her small hobby farm. She loves spending time with family and friends, exploring nature, and reading a good book.
