Therapeutic Approach & Specialties

Megan’s work is grounded in a trauma-informed, nervous-system aware approach to therapy. She focuses on helping clients understand the patterns and emotional responses that have developed over time—often as ways of adapting to stress, loss, or difficult experiences. Therapy becomes a space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening internally, and create change in a way that feels steady and sustainable.

Megan draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Music Therapy, Biofeedback and Neurofeedback approaches. She tailors these approaches thoughtfully, based on each person’s needs and pace.

Megan works with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma (including complex trauma and PTSD), grief, attachment difficulties, self-criticism, emotional overwhelm, and challenges related to identity and life transitions.

Professional & Academic Background

Megan Perry is a Registered Counselling Therapist, Board Certified Biofeedback Clinician, and Certified Music Therapist. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Music Therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2013 and completed a post-graduate program in Neurological Music Therapy through Colorado State University. In addition to her psychotherapy work, Megan provides both biofeedback and neurofeedback services, integrating nervous system regulation into her clinical practice

Why They Chose This Work

Megan chose this work because she has always been interested in how people carry their experiences—often quietly, and often for a long time. She is drawn to the moments when something that has felt confusing or heavy begins to make sense. Her background in music therapy shaped the way she listens. Megan pays attention not just to words, but to shifts in tone, pace, and the nervous system underneath them. Much of her work is about slowing things down enough for people to understand themselves with more clarity and less judgment.

Outside the Office

Outside of work, She enjoys camping and exploring the outdoors with her family. She also likes reading and finding creative ways to stay active and connected with nature. Megan values time for both adventure and relaxation, always looking for ways to balance family life with personal interests.
