Therapeutic Approach & Specialties
Rochelle believes that every person deserves the opportunity to feel whole and to pursue a life that reflects their true self. The journey toward healing and self-discovery can be deeply transformative, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside individuals as they navigate that path.
In her work she draws from psychodynamic and psychoanalytic approaches to help clients uncover deeper patterns and unconscious processes that shape their lives. She also integrates family systems therapy, recognizing the influence of family dynamics and intergenerational patterns, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to support clients in building secure, meaningful connections. When appropriate, she incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address more immediate concerns and support clients in taking actionable steps toward change.
I strive to offer a space that is non-judgmental, compassionate, and grounded in respect—where clients feel seen, heard, and supported without bias. My goal is to foster a therapeutic relationship built on trust and authenticity, where people can explore their experiences and move toward greater clarity, resilience, and connection.
Professional & Academic Background
Rochelle is currently completing her M.Div in Clinical Counselling and is a member of an academic research team at a hospital in downtown Toronto. Her work centers on understanding the diverse factors that shape individual and community well-being, with a focus on fostering inclusive and responsive care practices. This research experience deeply informs her clinical approach, enriching her understanding of people’s needs and experiences on a person-to-person level.
Prior to this, Rochelle earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from McMaster University, where she developed a strong foundation in understanding how people express, relate, and connect—skills that continue to shape her work in the counselling space.
Why They Chose This Work
Rochelle does this work because she finds it deeply meaningful to walk alongside people as they discover freedom from feelings or life circumstances that once felt overwhelming or impossible. She values creating a safe, supportive space where individuals can show up authentically, without the masks the world often asks them to wear, and feel truly seen and accepted.
Outside the Office
Outside of work, Rochelle enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with her loved ones. These activities provide her with rest and renewal, helping her maintain balance and show up as her best self for her clients. She values work–life balance as an essential part of sustaining the energy and presence needed in her therapeutic work
