Vivian works primarily in clinical assessments for adults, teens and children. Diagnosing learning issues, attention and concentration, social skills, behavior and anything that is impairing academic, social and/or work functioning. Identifying struggles such as anxiety, trauma, PTSD, depression, OCD to better understand how to support, provide interventions and optimize life to the person’s highest capacity.
Professional & Academic Background
Vivian earned her Masters in Science majoring in Educational Psychology and Statistics from the State University of New York. She has been registered as a psychologist in the provinces of Manitoba and Quebec and is currently registered wth the province of PEI. Prior to joining NUVISTA Vivian worked for school boards, universities, international schools, private practice and in partnership with psychiatrists. Vivian stays current with best practice and recently completed a 2 year supervision and training in PTSD and trauma.
Why They Chose This Work
Vivian is compassionate and fascinated with the human mind, spirit and neurobiology. There are so many complex factors that play into the social, behavioural, neural, academic, emotional and spiritual aspects of work, learning, relationships and accomplishment. Finding out what is going on, where to best intervene and provide and way to move forward is rewarding for both the client and psychologist.
Outside the Office
When not working Vivian enjoys biking, swimming, yoga, reading, history, health, spirituality, personal growth, nature, cooking, sewing and portrait drawing.
