Alyssa believes in offering a trauma informed, integrative and holistic approach that recognizes that trauma impacts both the mind and body. Drawing from Internal Family Systems Therapy, Somatic Psychotherapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, treatment is tailored to the individual needs of each person. Her experience with veteran’s and their families, first responders and adults includes treating Trauma, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression and Personality Disorders, general life transitions and personal growth.
Alyssa earned her Master’s in Education in Counselling at the University of New Brunswick and is registered with the College of Counselling Therapists in New Brunswick. She began working with veterans 8 years ago utilizing biofeedback which helped her gain an appreciation for the role of the nervous system in healing. She regularly participates in ongoing professional development and is currently working towards certification in Heart Math Heart Rate Variability Training and Brainspotting.
Alyssa is passionate about providing a space that is safe for people to be seen and heard exactly as they are to help facilitate healing and growth.
When not working she enjoys spending time with her family, creative work and crafts, reading, and any nature based activity including paddle boarding, camping, fishing and hiking.
