E. L. believes in a nonjudgmental, accepting and client-centered approach. He works with clients to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviours with compassion to help them better understand their experience and to help navigate their personal journey for growth. E. L. provides tailored evidence-based methods to meet each individual’s needs. He frequently draws on varying methods of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and clinical theories to provide psychoeducation as well as to address challenges such as anxiety, depression, learning challenges, self-esteem, stress, burnout and sports performance. He has particular expertise in working with children and adolescents (8-22 in Ontario) and adolescents and adults (14-45 in Alberta).

Professional & Academic Background

E. L. earned his Master’s in Educational Psychology and Counselling Psychology from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee, United States of America. He is registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario and the College of Alberta Psychologists and participates in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in counselling support and clinical interventions. Prior to joining NUVISTA, E. L. gained experience working in public school boards and universities, community mental health services, and private practice settings, serving diverse populations.

He tries to make the therapeutic process resemble a part of this community that provides a welcoming place based on empathy and collaboration, so that the needs of an individual are supported, promoting self-worth, acceptance, and the ability to succeed.

Outside the Office

When he i snot working, E. L. enjoys playing and watching basketball, working out, watching movies and telelvision and spending time with family and friends.
