Therapeutic Approach & Specialties
Heidi offers an integrative, trauma-informed approach to therapy that supports whole-person healing. Her work is grounded in extensive training in IFS (Level 1), EMDR, CPT, CBCT, CBT, ACT, EFT, DBT, mindfulness, KAP, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. She thoughtfully tailors treatment to each individual, drawing from these approaches to meet the individual needs of each client.
Heidi has been honored to work closely with Veterans and first responders, including those in police, fire, and emergency medical services. She brings a deep respect for the strength of these communities, along with a compassionate understanding of the unique stressors and emotional toll associated with these roles.
While she conducts a limited number of psychological assessments, the majority of Heidi’s practice is focused on trauma healing. She works with individuals, couples, and groups, helping clients cultivate insight and guiding them to meaningful change from within. Her practice also includes Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy and Harm Reduction Integration. Witnessing the healing that can emerge from this work continues to inspire her hope in addressing the deeper roots of suffering and supporting lasting change.
Professional & Academic Background
Heidi earned her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Acadia University, following an earlier career as a teacher and several years as a full-time parent to her three children. She has been a Licensed Psychologist in New Brunswick since 2001.
Heidi began her psychology career in Community Mental Health, where she held a variety of clinical and leadership roles. She later worked with Field Trip Health for two years, gaining specialized experience in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, before joining NuVista in 2023.
