As a military spouse, mother of two, and passionate advocate for social justice, Kaitlin understands the complex social factors that can impact mental health. She believes in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore their challenges. Her approach is collaborative and compassionate, ensuring that each client’s unique needs are heard and respected. Together, you’ll create an individualized treatment plan to support your mental health goals.

Kaitlin has experience addressing a wide range of concerns, including perinatal mental health, depression, anxiety, grief, addiction, relapse prevention, and suicidal ideation. She offers specialized treatments for substance use disorders related to alcohol, opioids, cannabis, tobacco, and stimulants. Her therapeutic practice draws from evidence-based approaches such as Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Unified Protocol, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Currently pursuing certification as a Perinatal Mental Health Clinician through Postpartum Support International, Kaitlin is also expanding her expertise in trauma-related disorders and couples counseling.

Professional & Academic Background

Kaitlin earned her Master’s of Social Work from the University of Waterloo. She works virtually with True North Psychological Services and available to see clients who live in Newfoundland & Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Ontario. She was a speaker at the 2025 Canadian Perinatal Conference, and continues to gain experience on the current best practices for work with mothers, parents within the perinatal period. Prior to joining True North, Kaitlin gained experience working within the Public Mental Health & Addictions Services and within the Non-Profit sector.

Kaitlin believes that each person deserves high quality mental health care. Every client that she works with, her passion is to see them as a human first. She believes in open and honest communication and therapeutic relationship between the client and therapist.

Outside the Office

Outside of work, Kaitlin enjoys spending time with her family, and two dogs. They enjoy camping, walks in the park, and days spent on a lake or beach. She enjoys baking, watching reality TV, and most recently making creative art using seaglass she has found on the shores of NL.
