Therapeutic Approach & Specialties
Katie works from a client-centered, strengths-based and trauma-informed approach. By working collaboratively, she supports clients and families in finding the best evidence-based treatment to meet their needs. Over the years she has completed extensive training in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Specialized areas of training include Dialectical Behavioural Therapy for Children (DBT-C) and supporting clients of all ages who have experienced trauma (trained in TF-CBT, EMDR and CPT). Katie also has several years of experience mentoring new clinicians and facilitating clinical trainings in both CBT and DBT.
Professional & Academic Background
Katie holds a Bachelor of Social Work from St. Thomas University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a Master of Social Work from Dalhousie University. She is a registered social worker with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers and has been providing therapy and counselling services since 2015. Throughout her career, Katie has specialized in supporting clients who have experienced various forms of trauma, as well as working with children, youth and their families.

Katie is passionate about supporting people through difficult moments in their lives, regardless of how big or small those moments may seem. She is committed to providing a safe, nonjudgmental atmosphere, and believes in supporting clients through a tailored approach that meets their individual needs while also building upon their existing strengths.
Outside the Office
When she’s not working, Katie enjoys spending time with her family and animals, reading and enjoying nature. She’s also a life-long learner and is always looking for ways to further her knowledge in both her personal interests and her work.
