Therapeutic Approach & Specialties
Nathalie is a pediatric clinical psychologist who provides assessments and therapy. She adopts an integrative, neuro-affirming model, to provide an evidence-based therapeutic approach tailored to the developmental needs of children and adolescents. Treatment draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to build psychological flexibility and values-guided behaviour; Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) (including The Unified Protocol for Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders) to support skill development, emotional regulation, and adaptive coping; and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)-informed strategies to enhance distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) principles are incorporated to strengthen attachment, improve emotional attunement, and support caregiver-child relationships. For children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, medical stress, or adverse life events, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is used to facilitate the processing of distressing experiences in a developmentally appropriate manner. Care is strengths-based, collaborative, and family-inclusive, with a focus on promoting resilience, emotional wellbeing, and meaningful participation across home, school, and community settings.
Professional & Academic Background
Nathalie earned her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Regina and is a registered doctoral psychologist with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists. Prior to joining Nuvista, Nathalie gained experience working at a community pediatric mental health program and at a children’s outpatient rehabilitation program.
