Therapeutic Approach & Specialties
Rachel incorporates the PACE approach, grounded in Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy. She partners with clients to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviours without judgment, integrating evidence-based methods to meet each individual’s unique needs. Her work is informed primarily by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based practices to support concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Rachel also has specialized training in supporting adults and teens navigating anger, shame, trauma, and heightened emotional intensity.
Professional & Academic Background
Rachel earned her Master of Science in Mental Health Psychology from the University of Liverpool in England and has completed additional postgraduate coursework through Yorkville University. She is registered with the Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and provincially with the College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick (CCTNB). Rachel is committed to ongoing professional development and continues to expand her expertise in trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including certification in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
Why They Chose This Work
Rachel believes that every person has an innate capacity to heal from within and transform their experience of life and their inner world. She trusts that with the right support, individuals can uncover their own strengths and resources, leading to greater clarity, resilience, and emotional balance. Rachel also believes that as people deepen their self-understanding, their relationships with others naturally become healthier, more grounded, and more fulfilling.
Outside the Office
Rachel enjoys salsa dancing, baking treats and fresh bread, and nurturing her well-being through yoga and meditation. These practices bring her joy, creativity, and a sense of balance that she carries into her work with others.
