Sofia is dedicated, placing immense importance in providing a welcoming and supportive space for clients to express their concerns and challenges. She believes in a client-centered approach, tailoring evidence-based methods: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure with Response-Prevention. Sofia is passionate about helping adults who struggle with a variety of concerns, such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Depression, Insomnia and Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (Trichotillomania, Skin Picking).
Professional & Academic Background
Sofia was awarded a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology by the D’Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara, Italy and she is licensed as a psychologist in Italy. She has been engaging in training at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and working in private practice to hone her skills. Sofia is currently completing requirements to register with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) as a psychological associate, in clinical psychology. At NuVista, she currently works under the direct supervision of Joanna Jeffers (M.A., Clinical Psychologist) in preparation for her licensure with the CPO.
Sofia in a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professional and the Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies (CACBT).
