Therapeutic Approach & Specialties
Susan believes in a client-centered approach to therapy. She works with first responders, military members and Veterans to treat PTSD using Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). She draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness to address challenges such as generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, major depressive disorder, as well as interpersonal issues, self-esteem, work and stress related issues.
Professional & Academic Background
Susan earned a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Acadia University. She is a registered Psychologist with the Nova Scotia Regulator of Psychology (NSRP). Part of the requirements for continued registration is continuing education and professional development. She also has a Masters in Experimental Psychology from Memorial University in Newfoundland. Prior to joining True North she worked in Private Practice where she gained experience working with community services.

Outside the Office
When she’s not working, Susan enjoys dog sports and spending time with her two Jack Russell Terriers and two Schapendoes.
