Clinician Spotlight: Meet Emma

July 7, 2026

Compassionate support for children, military families, and life’s challenges

Finding the right therapist is about more than credentials—it’s about finding someone who truly understands your experiences and creates a space where you feel safe, supported, and empowered.

We’re excited to introduce Emma, a Registered Social Worker with more than six years of experience supporting individuals and families through mental health, addiction, trauma, and life’s many transitions.

A Unique Understanding of Military Life

Emma has built her career supporting diverse populations, with experience in outpatient addictions care, rehabilitation services, and mental health settings serving WorkSafe, PCVRS, veterans, and members of the Canadian Armed Forces. She has also worked within a Canadian Armed Forces mental health clinic.

As a military spouse herself, Emma brings not only professional expertise but also personal insight into the unique realities military members and their families face. This combination allows her to provide care that is both knowledgeable and deeply empathetic.

Helping Children Build Confidence and Resilience

Emma has a special passion for working with children ages 7/8+ and helping them navigate the challenges that come with growing up.

Whether a child is experiencing anxiety, struggling with emotional regulation, facing peer or school-related challenges, or working through self-esteem concerns, Emma creates a supportive environment where they can learn practical skills while feeling understood and accepted.

Her sessions often incorporate creativity, play, and developmentally appropriate activities that make therapy engaging and accessible. She also works alongside her certified therapy dog, Ollie, whose calming presence helps many children feel comfortable, connected, and ready to engage in the therapeutic process.

Therapy That Meets You Where You Are

Emma believes therapy should feel collaborative, practical, and tailored to each person’s unique needs.

She draws from evidence-based approaches including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Solution-Focused Therapy
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Emma works alongside each client to identify their strengths and develop strategies that support meaningful, lasting change.

Supporting Parents and Families

Emma recognizes that supporting a child often means supporting the people who care for them, too.

In addition to individual therapy, she offers parenting support sessions and has a growing interest in facilitating parenting groups that help caregivers build confidence, strengthen relationships, and feel more supported in their parenting journey.

She also values collaboration with schools, healthcare providers, and other professionals when it helps provide coordinated, comprehensive care for her clients.

A Safe Space to Feel Heard

At the heart of Emma’s practice is a commitment to advocacy. She strives to ensure every client feels heard, respected, and empowered throughout their care.

Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, Emma is dedicated to helping you build resilience, navigate challenges, and move toward meaningful change.
