Dr. Michelle Tougas is a Candidate Registered Psychologist who received her PhD from Dalhousie University in 2021. Dr. Tougas specializes in assessment and treatment services with families, parents, and children/youth ages 4-18 years old. Dr. Tougas works with children and youth experiencing challenges related to anxiety, low mood, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, and trauma. Dr. Tougas provides evidence-based therapy using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family Based Therapy (FBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Dr. Tougas also provides psychoeducational assessments for school-aged children and youth to provide an understanding of cognitive and academic functioning, along with practical recommendations to help support learning and development.
